The weather...seriously...what the?

I am so tired of this winter already.  First 20 inches of snow...then 30 degrees below zero...and now...freezing rain.  Enough already!  The storm isn't even officially here yet and my house sounds like it is getting hit with rocks as the wind blows the ice chunks and bits of tree branches off the trees.  Just please let all my windows stay intact and let the power stay on!

I've managed to keep up with my project 365 so far (check out the links on the left).  They are not always the best photos (my house is just so dark this time of year), but I am remembering to take them, and that is half the battle.  Now, do I wait until the end of the year and have them printed into a book...or should I scrap them each week?  Decisions decisions.  I have these great templates:

and I am eyeing these that Gina has in the store too:

I have scrapped too!!

I totally have to brag on Kyler today!  He took a science test yesterday and a social studies test today.  He got 129% on one and 126% on the other.  Awesome job kid!!!

Brrrrrrrrrr.....

It is so cold here we've had two days off of school.  That is truly unheard of here.  Even lots of snow doesn't call off school because the plows are very efficient.  But there isn't anything they can do to prevent little kids from freezing in 46 below windchills.  I spent today getting my 365 blog/gallery updated.  I'm also trying to get some housework done.  I broke out my Roomba and vacuumed the livingroom and kitchen.  Not sure how great it is since I'll have to go back and get around those little nooks and crannies myself with a broom or a duster.  But for getting underneath the sofa and loveseat it's great!

I scrapbooked this week and designed some new products for The Lilypad's 3rd Birthday Celebration.  So it hasn't been a total waste this week.  All this cold snowy weather is good for something!

and some goodies @ The Lilypad (on sale this weekend!)

Have a great weekend!  I'm thinking about going to a movie.  Maybe I'll talk the kids into going to Avatar with me.  They didn't want to at first, but now Kyra has heard from her friends that it's the best movie ever! LOL!

Happy New Year!

Hey!  Long time no see!  I have updated my blog a little bit and added some new features.  I am doing project 365 so I added a gallery and a separate blog for my daily photos and a little blurb underneath.  Just a sentence or two and a photo is a lot less pressure than a full blown blog.  I still plan on using this for longer stories and layouts and design stuff.  We'll see how that goes.

I decided to put together a collage of all my layouts from 2009.  It's fun to see a theme, what you are drawn to, things you repeat on a regular basis.  All I can say is thank goodness I am part of the team at the daily digi.  Without them, I wouldn't have scrapped more than 5 layouts all year.  Pretty pathetic...I really do better with assignments and deadlines.

Puppies

Here's a shot my brother got yesterday of the shitzus.  Aren't they too cute?  My "faberit" as Will would say is the litle girl on the left.

I can't believe school has started!

Ha...yes, I know I took the entire summer off from blogging.

Well, all three kids made it through their first day of school.  I was most worried about Kirby since this is his first year of middle school.  It's such a huge transition from elementary...all the changing rooms and teachers, figuring out lockers, alternating schedules, meeting new kids (and lots of them).  It's overwhelming and my Kirby does not do change well.  I really thought he might balk and refuse to get on the bus.  We had a bit of a melt down the night before where he proclaimed he was staying home in his pajamas for the rest of his life.  But he did it...got on the bus, made it through the day and actually smiled a bit when he got home.  Of course this morning he must have felt more nerves because his stomach hurt and he really wanted to stay home.  I had to be mean mom and made him go anyway.

Kyler and Kyra did great because they are now pros at their schools.  Ky in 4th grade and Kyra a Sophomore at highschool.  They both had good days and are ready to get back into a schedule after a lazy summer.

I spent my first day of "freedom" making a list and checking off items that desperately needed to get done.  I got about 90% of it done.  Today I woke up with a bad back, so I called the chiro and can't get in until tomorrow.  That meant laying on a heating pad and keeping Will occupied with movies.  Then Scott called and asked if I wanted to help him shoot some puppies (not with a gun, a camera...duh).  Second Chance Rescue had three 6 week Shitzu puppies.  Oh my goodness...cuteness overload!!  It took my mind off my back that's for sure!  I could have taken home the little girl...she fell in love with me too.  She followed me everywhere and cried when I left the room.  sigh...

I love back to school time because it feels like a new start, even for me.  I also felt this way after Christmas break and remember what happened...broken toe.  Now I'm all gung ho for this school year and what happens...bad back.  grrrrrr!!!  I don't get motivated to work out and clean the house that often so it's frustrating to have it curtailed with an injury.  Bummer.
